Naples with its nightlife, the sparkle of its bay, its singing, pizza, the Naples football club, the Neapolitan people. It is a city that lives intensely and speaks loudly, without forgetting Vesuvius, which it observes out of the corner of its eye. With its treasures of art and architecture, the second largest city in Italy bears witness to a particularly rich past.
If all this is already enough to occupy a weekend, Naples is also the point of ideal starting point for visiting Capri, Pompeii or the Amalfi Coast.
Arrival at Naples airport in the morning, private transfer to the hotel.
On board an Ape Calessino, a legendary 3-wheeled car, you will explore Naples in a different and fun way. Together with your driver, you will enjoy learning about the “driving rules” to adopt in the midst of the effervescent Neapolitan traffic. A guide will be at your side to answer your questions during the visit. On the programme: the Church of San Francesco, the Parco Virgiliano, the Galleria Umberto I, Piazza del Plebiscito, the most important in the city, via Caracciolo, which borders the sea. And finally, a stop on the terrace of the Caffè Miranapoli allows you to taste the Dolce Vita together with a coffee and typical Neapolitan sweets.
After dinner, we have booked you an evening at the Teatro San Carlo. Adorned in red and gold, this theater is a true jewel of architecture: six floors of boxes with velvet armchairs, a magnificent ceiling fresco clearly visible in the absence of a traditional chandelier, the royal box … The harmony of the place is enough to enthrall visitors. And when you attend a show, the scene awakens and the first musical notes sound, the enchantment takes on a whole new dimension.
In the morning meeting with our local guide to experience Naples like a true Neapolitan. Our guide, born in the alleys of the historic center, will tell you some anecdotes and curiosities of his city. In his footsteps, crossing the historic streets with palaces and churches, you will meet artisans, painters and sculptors , in their studios to learn about their stories related to the city. These meetings are done spontaneously, nothing is organized in advance and each walk will be improvised according to the curiosities and expectations of each client.
Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon departure to visit the excavations of Pompeii with your private guide: in 79 AD, Vesuvius awoke violently and covered Pompeii in ash. The whole city is here, 2,000 years later. In addition to the theatres, the baths, the basilica and the forum, there are real houses – of Meleagre, of the Mysteries, of the Fauna. The visit takes place outside of peak hours, when the sun begins to set and covers the ruins of Pompeii in a wonderful light.
Return to Naples and free evening.
Before leaving, last visit to the San Severo Chapel. This mysterious church, now deconsecrated and once belonged to the princes of San Severo, was founded by Alessandro di Sangro and reorganized by Raimondo di Sangro. Inside it houses one of the most beautiful works of Italian sculpture: the Veiled Christ by Giuseppe Sanmartino. The fame of this statue is due to its beauty, to the fact that it seems almost real and to the delicate veil that covers the face of the deposed Christ: it seems impossible that it is made of marble!

Visiting the Toledo metro station is a must because it is a real work of art; it has even been declared the most beautiful metro station in Europe and in the world.
The Spanish architect Óscar Tusquets worked on its project, who wanted to recreate with plays of light and colors the marine atmosphere.
Visit to the complex of Santa Chiara, one of the best-known monasteries in Naples.
The complex is made up of the largest Gothic-Angevin basilica in the city, four cloisters, from the archaeological excavations which also include ancient Roman baths and the Museo dell’Opera. Giotto also worked inside it and the artist’s frescoes are still today, in some cases , visible. Unfortunately not all of the Master’s works survived because in more recent centuries they were hidden with stucco. Furthermore, in 1943, the bombings reduced a large part of the basilica to rubble, which was rebuilt at the end of the conflict.
Outside the walls of the historic centre, we suggest a visit to the Archaeological Museum.
The MANN is considered one of the most important archaeological museums in the world and houses interesting finds especially from Pompeii and Herculaneum. However, there is no shortage of evidence from Rome and belonging to the Farnese collection. The Egyptian section is also interesting: the third most important after those in Cairo and Turin.
