Venetian Villas and Palladio

Begin you 4-day journey dedicated to the Venetian Villas around Treviso: Villa Barbaro, in Maser, is one of the most beautiful Villas in Veneto and one of the most original Palladio’s artworks; and Villa Emo, in Fanzolo, has internal decorations by Battista Zelotti and an incredible garden.
Enjoy an excursion by boat along the Riviera del Brenta, during which you can admire the most famous and beautiful villas which used to be the country residences of the Venetian noblemen.
You also have the possibility to visit some of them: Villa Pisani, whose 144 rooms welcomed doges, kings and emperors and nowadays is a national museum which conserves eighteenth and nineteenth century works of art and furniture, as Gianbattista Tiepolo’s masterpiece, The Glory of the Pisani family, a fresco on the ceiling of the ballroom; Villa Widmann whose complex counts the main mansion with garden and the contiguous court, and the huge park embellished with 18th century statues , numerous different species of trees and birds and a little lake; Villa Foscari “La Malcontenta”, the only one built by the famous architect Palladio, still preserves the original architecture facing the waters of the Brenta River.
We conclude our tour with a guided tour of Villa Capra La Rotonda, in Vicenza, the most famous Palladio’ art work, also celebrated in Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’.
