PIEDMONT: livestock and biogas

5-day stay around Piedmont for a group of 30 Portuguese farmers.
Visit of a 2000-pork farm, specialized in the production of fresh meat and artisan-cured meticulously checking every step of the production chain. After the recent installation of a 637 KW/h biogas plant, it now produces electricity and thermal power used to supply the farm and the local community.
The tour continues with other visits to: a Holstein farm around Turin; a dairy cattle farm near Turin producing Bio methane; a greenhouse producing 1000 tons of zucchini and 600 tons of tomatoes every year, integrated with a PV installation on the roof of the greenhouse; some dairy cattle farms working for a famous Italian milk company, one of which also has a biogas installation of 300 KW.
