In the morning meeting with our local guide<\/b> to experience Naples like a true Neapolitan. Our guide, born in the alleys of the historic center, will tell you some anecdotes and curiosities of his city. In his footsteps, crossing the historic streets with palaces and churches, you will meet artisans, painters and sculptors <\/b>, in their studios to learn about their stories related to the city. These meetings are done spontaneously, nothing is organized in advance and each walk will be improvised according to the curiosities and expectations of each client. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

In the afternoon departure to visit the excavations of Pompeii<\/b> with your private guide: in 79 AD, Vesuvius awoke violently and covered Pompeii in ash. The whole city is here, 2,000 years later. In addition to the theatres, the baths, the basilica and the forum, there are real houses – of Meleagre, of the Mysteries, of the Fauna. Before leaving, last visit to the San Severo Chapel<\/strong>. This mysterious church, now deconsecrated and once belonged to the princes of San Severo, was founded by Alessandro di Sangro and reorganized by Raimondo di Sangro. Inside it houses one of the most beautiful works of Italian sculpture:\u00a0the Veiled Christ by Giuseppe Sanmartino<\/strong>. The fame of this statue is due to its beauty, to the fact that it seems almost real and to the delicate veil that covers the face of the deposed Christ: it seems impossible that it is made of marble!<\/p>\n

Visit to the\u00a0complex of Santa Chiara<\/strong>, one of the best-known monasteries in Naples.<\/p>\n

The complex is made up of the largest Gothic-Angevin basilica in the city, four cloisters, from the archaeological excavations which also include ancient Roman baths and the\u00a0Museo dell’Opera<\/strong>. Giotto<\/strong> also worked inside it and the artist’s frescoes are still today, in some cases , visible. Unfortunately not all of the Master’s works survived because in more recent centuries they were hidden with stucco.
